Newly Appointed Tourism Minister to Re-take Oath

After much discussion, the Government Oversight Committee of the Parliament of Maldives has decided that the new Tourism Minister, Dr. Abdulla Mausoom retake the oath due to a procedural flaw in the previous oath taking .Through the research conducted by the Government Oversight Committee it was found that the Minister had taken his oath whilst being involved in a business and he had left this business only after taking the oath. Since this could be perceived as a procedural flaw and to maintain proper appointment into the cabinet, decision was taken in favor of re-taking the oath. The Committee also advised the relevant authorities to be more heedful in the future so as to avoid further mishaps such as these.
